Hosting your first session on Jugo

A first-session walkthrough for the mildly nervous.

Running your first session on Jugo doesn’t require a new workflow or a dramatic learning curve. If you’re familiar with Zoom, you’re already most of the way there. Jugo simply helps you show up more polished and in control.

This article walks you through what to expect and how to get set up for a smooth first session.

Before your session

Get your basics sorted

A few minutes of prep goes a long way.

  • Make sure you’re logged into the correct Zoom account

  • Check your camera and microphone are working

  • Close any apps you don’t need (especially ones that use your camera or mic)

If it’s your first time, give yourself a buffer so you’re not rushing.

Set up your meeting in Jugo

From your Jugo dashboard, you can:

  • Schedule a meeting for later, or

  • Use Meet now to start immediately

Once created, you can:

  • Edit the meeting name and details

  • Copy the participant link to share with attendees

  • Add the meeting to your calendar

Set the look and feel

Choose your environment

Pick a 3D environment that fits the type of session you’re running (demo, workshop, update, etc.).

Apply your branding

  • Set your primary and secondary colours

  • Upload your logo (and optional assets)

  • Use a template if you’ve already created one

Don’t overthink this, clean and simple works best.

Check your presenter setup

Before starting:

  • Use framing, lighting, and focus tools to get comfortable on camera

  • Do a quick audio check in Zoom

  • Make sure you’re centred and well-lit

If you look comfortable, you’ll feel more confident once people join.

Starting the session

When it’s time:

  1. Select Start meeting in Jugo

  2. Zoom will launch as normal

  3. Let attendees join and give them a moment to settle

A simple “Can everyone see and hear me?” is a perfectly acceptable opener.

During your session

Stay visible

  • Keep your camera on when speaking

  • Use screen sharing only when it adds value

  • Switch back to the camera for discussion or key moments

Keep it interactive

  • Ask small questions early

  • Invite chat responses

  • Acknowledge people by name when possible

You don’t need constant interaction - just enough to keep things live.

Recording (optional)

If you want a recording:

  • Start recording through Zoom

  • Choose cloud or local recording

  • Remember, attendees will see a recording indicator, so it's best practice to ask at the start of the meeting if it's ok to record the session

After the session, Zoom will process the recording for sharing.

Ending the session

Wrap up clearly:

  • Summarise the key points

  • Let people know what happens next

  • Thank everyone for joining

Once the meeting ends, Jugo will prompt attendees to leave feedback.

After your session

  • Share the recording (if you made one)

  • Review any feedback submitted

  • Reuse the meeting setup or template for next time

Your second session will always feel easier than the first.

Final tip

You don’t need to run a “perfect” session. Aim for clear, calm, and intentional - Jugo handles the polish while you focus on the people.
